Really the perfect performance-luxury car.
By Ray | on Tuesday, July 14, 2020
Looks like and is built like it is twice the price. Beautiful sounding and performing engine. The interior is magnificent. Infotainment system has flaws but is not as bad as critics say. Get used to it quickly. Not as fast off the line as some others like some 911s because of its weight. But plenty fast for the vast majority of drivers. Solid as a rock. And it is a Lexus. Cost of maintenance is negligible compared to Aston etc.… - 4.0
Could be so much better!
By Jim | on Wednesday, May 09, 2018
I love the car, but Lexus really dropped the ball when it comes to several aspects. First, the mouse-pad for accessing everything from heat to radio stations and navigation is a royal pain. Second, the nanny features- lane assist and collision avoidance- are aggravating. You have to shut off the collision avoidance every time you start the car. Try to find a car without it as an option. Third, the transmission is awful. In normal mode, it is worthless in traffic. Its somewhat better in Sport S mode. I just use the paddle shifters at all times. The 10 speed transmission is impractical and should be euthanized. Also, the car needs a dual clutch! The paddles shift fairly well, but the shifts really could be a lot faster, quieter and smoother. Fourth the car has power- but it needs more to haul its near 4400 pound heft. A super charger or turbo would do nicely on that V8. The car sounds awesome- inside and out. 21 inch wheels sure are nice- but almost 500 a tire to replace! I estimate Ill be lucky to get 10k miles out of them.… - 5.0
Spaceship from Japan

Initially I was lukewarm to the styling but was extremely impressed with the performance of the car. The seats are among the best Lexus makes; extremely comfortable on 8 hour+ drives. In sport+ mode the car really shines and gives you the performance and sound you should expect from a GT Coupe. Build quality is outstanding. Materials feel and look rich; better than any Porsche or Mercedes I currently own. This is a heavy, well-built car. From the solid “clunk” of the door when you close it, to the almost serene sound level at highway cruise the car exudes quality. To fully appreciate the car’s capabilities, you have to “push” it. It is not a Porsche 911 in terms of quick handling or light feel, but it will more than measure up to a Panamera, BMW 6 series or a Mercedes E/S Class coupe in terms of quality, comfort and performance. I am never disappointed when I drive it. As are as my initial lukewarm feeling about the styling, I have come to appreciate more every time I walk up to it or see it at a distance in the parking lot. It looks like nothing else on the road and is unmistakable when you see one on the road. I have gotten both compliments and a few “not sure about the looks” comments from people. I will say it is polarizing, some one it and some not so much. To each his own. For me, I think it is a great value for the money offering great performance, comfort and quality/reliability with very few compromises.…
